How it works
My day is for people who find a fixed routine helpful. You choose from twelve pictures: Getting up, Eating, Groceries, Work or school, Appointment, Exercise, Rest, Housework, Phone call, Going outside, Seeing someone and Sleeping. On a big screen you see your day card take shape while you choose; on a phone, at the last step. You print it on one A4 sheet, with big pictures and words.
- Choose a part of the day: the morning, the afternoon or the evening.
- Choose what you are going to do then. Three things fit in each part of the day. If a part of the day is full, what you choose next goes to the next part.
- If you like, add a time or a few words of your own. For example ‘dentist’ with Appointment, or ‘grandma’ with Seeing someone.
- Choose which day it is for, if you like.
- Press ‘Print’. Hang your day somewhere you will see it often, for example on the fridge.
Good to know
- No more than nine things fit on a day: three per part of the day. That keeps the card calm. You do not have to fill everything.
- Things appear in the order you choose them. So choose what you do first, first.
- To remove something you have chosen, go to step 2. Want it in another part of the day? Then choose it again there.
- Space left over? On paper, an empty space becomes a box. You can write or draw something in it yourself.
- Nothing chosen? Then you print an empty day card. You fill it in completely by hand.
- You can also make your day together with someone you trust. For example your support worker or someone at home.
- No printer? In the print window, choose ‘Save as PDF’. Then your day is saved as a file on your device.
On paper
Does it not work on your screen? Then make your day like this:
- Take a sheet of paper. Draw three lines across it, so you have four parts.
- In the top part, write ‘My day’ in big letters, and the day if you like.
- In the other parts, write ‘Morning’, ‘Afternoon’ and ‘Evening’.
- In each part, draw or write what you are going to do. No more than three things. Add a time if you like.
- Hang it somewhere you will see it often.
Your data
What you choose and type is not saved and not sent. If you close the page or reload it, everything is gone. ‘Start again’ clears everything straight away. Was that a mistake? Then bring it back with ‘Undo’.
