Conversation table

Conversation table

For the care worker

Choose a route

Which conversation are you going to have? Then you go through the steps together with your client. You can skip any step.

Route

The steps of First meeting

  1. What shall we talk about today?
  2. My network
  3. Strength cards
  4. Scaling question
  5. Small step
  6. How did the conversation go?

Choose a file you saved earlier with the Conversation table. It is only read on this page: nothing is sent.

Nothing is sent. Everything stays on this page until you close or refresh it. If you save the conversation, there is a file on this device. That file contains everything that was filled in, including names.

How it works

  1. Choose a route: First meeting, Progress meeting or Closing meeting. Or put together your own route.
  2. Go through the steps together. Each step is a tool from this site, such as the Scaling question or My network.
  3. Does a step not fit? Skip it. If you go back a step, what you filled in stays there.
  4. At the end, everything is together in the report. Add anything else you agree on.
  5. Print the report for your client, copy the text for the case file, or save the conversation as a file.

The three routes

  • First meeting: what it is about, who is around your client, what is going well, where your client is now, and what a first small step is.
  • Progress meeting: what today is about, how things are going now, weighing up a choice, and the next small step.
  • Closing meeting: where you are now, what you can do, who stays around you, and what you will do next.

Every route ends with How did the conversation go? That way your client tells you what went well and what could be different.

Together at the table

Put the screen between you, so you can both see it. A tablet or laptop works best for this. Let your client tap things themselves where possible; the sentence above each step is meant for your client. Read through the report together before you print or save it, and give your client the sheet to take home.

Saving a conversation and continuing later

With Save as file (in the bar above the conversation) you make a file on your own device. At the next conversation, choose Open an earlier conversation at Start. Then everything is back and you can carry on.

Good to know

  • A step that stays empty is not in the report.
  • There is no score or result. The report only says what you filled in together.
  • The file and the printout can contain names and personal details. Keep them where you keep other client records, and ask your client if that is all right. Your organisation's data protection officer knows the rules.
  • If you close or refresh the page, anything you have not saved is gone. Your browser asks first.
  • Everything works with the keyboard. After each step, the focus moves to the heading of the next step.
  • Make somethingCard maker

    Appointment card maker

Make a clear card for your client's appointment, with pictures and large print. Print it and hand it over.

What shall we talk about today?

At the start of a conversation, choose today’s topics together. Put them in order and say where you will start. Then show the card large or print it.

  • Conversation aidNetwork map

    My network

Place the people around you in three circles: close, a bit further and further away. There are questions to talk about, and you can print everything.
